Remove the engine oil filter using an oil filter wrench. Destroy the filter
to avoid reuse.

Apply a thin coating of fresh engine oil to the sealing gasket of the new
filter.

Carefully thread the new oil filter onto the oil pump block until hand-
tight. Using a filter wrench, tighten the filter an additional three-quarters
(¾) of a turn.
Do not over-tighten the engine oil filter, otherwise damage to the
filter or filter block may occur.
Use only a designated filter wrench to tighten the engine oil filter,
otherwise damage to the filter may occur. The Tata Motors part
number for the Oil filter Spanner is 2779 5890 1801.

Remove the oil filler cap, 2, from the engine valve cover and add 5.5
litres of fresh oil to the engine. Clean up any spilled oil and replace the
fill cap.
11.
Start the engine and observe the oil pressure indicator light on the
instrument cluster. Stop the engine if the light does not go out a few
seconds after starting the vehicle.
12.
Allow the engine to run for two to three minutes and then stop.
13.
Check for any oil leaks at the oil filter and drain plug. Repair as needed.
14.
Pull the engine oil dipstick, 3, from the dipstick tube and wipe clean with
a cloth. Replace the dipstick.
15.
Remove the dipstick again and observe the level of the engine oil on the
dipstick. If necessary, add oil to the crankcase to bring the oil level to the
"MAX" mark on the dipstick.
