EMERGENCY SERVICE – Tyre Changing

TYRE CHANGING

Always use the included jack to raise the vehicle.
Do not jack the vehicle in any other location besides the designated
jack points.
Always chock the wheels when jacking the vehicle.
Never place an object under the jack.
Not following these warnings may allow the vehicle to slide off the
jack, causing severe injury or damage to the vehicle.
Use the following procedure to change a tyre:
1.
Switch on the hazard warning signals. Pull off to the side of the road,
out of the way of oncoming traffic. Make sure the vehicle is on a flat,
level, surface.

Place the vehicle in first or reverse gear and engage the parking brake.
3.
Have all occupants exit the vehicle. Place chocks at the wheel diagonal
of the one being changed.
4.
Remove and set up the advance warning triangle located in the vehicle's
trunk/boot. Instructions for setting up the advanced warning triangle are
detailed in this section of the manual.
5.
Lift the carpet in the trunk to access the scissor jack, handle, and spare
tyre.
6.
Remove the jack and handle from the trunk.
7.
Remove the spare tyre from the trunk. Place the tyre near the tyre to be
changed.
8.
If the wheel is equipped with a wheel cover, use the straight-blade
screwdriver (in the tool kit) to carefully pry the wheel cover off the wheel.
