SAFETY EQUIPMENT – Seat belts

Front Seat Belts

To fasten and wear the seat belt, use the following steps:
1.
First sit upright and back into the seat.
2
2.
Pull the seat belt across your body, making sure there are no twists in the
belt while doing so.
3.
The shoulder belt will cross over the near collarbone and chest while the
lap belt is positioned as low as possible across the hips.
4.
To secure the belt, insert the seat belt tongue into buckle until a positive
'click' is heard.
5.
Pull on the shoulder harness to remove slack and make sure the belt is
latched.
6.
Remain upright and back into the seat while the vehicle is in motion.
Travelling with the seatback reclined greatly reduces the effectiveness of
the seat belt and promotes the risk of injury in the event of an accident.
To unlock and remove the seat belt, push the red "PRESS" button, 1, on the seat
belt buckle and return the seat belt to the original position.

Seat Belt Reminder

The Indigo vehicle is equipped with a visual warning reminder to fasten seat
belts (Driver Seat). Some models are also equipped with an audio warning
reminder When the ignition switch is moved to the "IGN" position, the audio
reminder will beep and the indicator on the instrument cluster will illuminate if
the driver's seat belt is not fastened. The reminder will stop when the driver's
seat belt is fastened or after approximately six (6) seconds have elapsed.
