a
Access policy—The policy that enables you to change the passwords for the root and admin accounts.
administrator—A user in the SiteProtector user group that has all permissions and can perform all tasks.
administrator password—The password used to access the administrative tools on the appliance.
advanced parameters—Parameters that help diagnose, correct, or improve performance issues you might
experience with your network or environment.
Agent Manager—The Agent Manager provides the ability to configure, update, and manage the appliance in
SiteProtector.
Agent Manager address—The IP address of the SiteProtector Agent Manager.
Agent Manager port—The port number on which alerts are sent to SiteProtector.
agent policies—Policies that apply to Enterprise Scanner appliances and describe operational settings for the
agents.
alerts (notifications)—An informational message sent from an agent; triggered when an event meets set criteria.
analyst—A user in the SiteProtector user group that has global permissions except full access to all functionality.
assessment content—An update from the IBM ISS Center that contains security content.
Assessment Credentials policy—A policy that defines authentication credentials used for accessing and
assessing the Windows assets in a group.
assessment manager—A user in the SiteProtector user group that has limited access to tasks.
Assessment policy—A policy that applies to assessment scans that are either run in the background or as ad hoc
scans.
assessment scan—A scan that runs port scans and vulnerability detection checks against assets.
asset-centric assessment—An approach to assessment that focuses on the assets being scanned rather than on
the agents performing the assessments.
asset policies—Policies that apply to groups of assets and describe the security policy for those assets.
asset service—The service that provides information about assets and asset groups for an asset-centric
assessment.
ad hoc scan—A scan that you start manually (as opposed to a background scan) to run for either a specific group
of assets or IP ranges using a specific policy.
