Composing and Sending Messages

Composing an E-mail or SMS Message

You can choose to send from Inbox or Contacts (if Contacts contains the e-mail address or
SMS number you want).
Sending from Inbox
On the Home screen, press the Start soft
key and select Inbox. Press the New soft
key. Select an account to use: SMS,
ActiveSync, or a POP3 or IMAP4 e-mail
account that you set up. Enter a recipient
e-mail address or SMS number in the To
field. If Contacts contains the e-mail address
or SMS number you want, you can press the
Action key directly in the input field to
select from the list.
N O T E
You can only enter SMS numbers in an SMS message, and e-mail addresses in an e-mail
message.
To insert punctuation such as the "at" sign (@), a period (.), or a semicolon (;), repeatedly press
the number key 1 in the Multipress mode until the punctuation appears.
To add multiple recipients, separate each name with a semicolon (;) by repeatedly pressing the
number key 1 in the Multipress mode until the semicolon appears. You can also press and hold
the Pound key (#) to select a symbol from the symbol list.

In Cc, enter the e-mail address of the person to receive a copy.
(This field does not appear for SMS messages.)

In Subj, enter a subject (this field does not appear for SMS
messages), and your message. (For information on entering text,
see section 2.3.)

Press the Send soft key.

If you are sending an e-mail message, it will be stored in Outbox
and sent to the recipient the next time you synchronize or connect
to your e-mail server. If you are sending an SMS message, it will
be sent immediately through the mobile network.
Sending from a Contact Card
On the Home screen, press the Start soft
key and select Contacts. Select the contact
you want from the list to open the contact
card. Select the e-mail address or SMS
number you want, and press the Action key.
