Receiving E-mail Messages

To receive e-mail messages, you can connect to your desktop computer or Exchange Server, and
synchronize Inbox with Outlook. (For more information, see Chapter 7.)
You can also use the Send/Receive menu command from an Internet e-mail account to receive
e-mail messages. Follow this procedure:
1.
Before you can receive e-mail messages, your Smartphone must be properly configured. (For
more information, see the "Setting up an Internet E-mail Account" section earlier in this
chapter.)
2.
On the Home screen, press the Start soft key and select Inbox.
3.
If necessary, press the Left/Right key to change to the Internet e-mail account for which you
want to receive messages.
4.
Press the Menu soft key and select Send/Receive. The Smartphone connects to your Internet
e-mail server and receives your messages.
N O T E
To stop this process, press the Menu soft key and select Stop Send/Receive.
You must take additional steps to receive large messages and attachments. For more
information, see the "Downloading a Complete E-mail Message" and "Downloading an
Attachment" sections later in this chapter.
