Using ActiveSync

Synchronizing information

When you have set up a partnership between your Smartphone and your desktop computer, and
completed the first synchronization (as described in section 1.6), you can start synchronizing from
the Smartphone any time. To start synchronizing:
1.
Connect your Smartphone to the desktop computer or server.
You can connect it to the desktop computer. (See section 1.6.)
You can synchronize information directly with a Microsoft Exchange Server if your
company is running Microsoft Exchange Server with Exchange ActiveSync. (See
section 7.3.)
You can synchronize remotely. (See section 7.5.)

On the Home screen, press the Start soft key and select ActiveSync.

Press the Sync soft key to start synchronizing.

Select to connect
and synchronize.
N O T E
The time setting on your Smartphone and desktop computer/server must be identical so that you
can synchronize correctly.
Whenever ActiveSync cannot successfully synchronize your information, it displays an error on
your Smartphone.
Some types of errors can interfere with automatic synchronization. If you suspect that a
scheduled automatic synchronization has not occurred, you should attempt to manually
synchronize your information.
Select to synchronize via IR or
change synchronization settings.
