Setting up Server ActiveSync

You can synchronize information directly with a Microsoft Exchange Server if your company is
running Microsoft Exchange Server with Exchange ActiveSync.

Setting up Server ActiveSync

1.
Before you can begin to synchronize information with a server, you may need to request
server configuration information, such as your user name, password, and the name of the
Microsoft Exchange Server, either from your service provider or from your corporate network
administrator. This configuration information may have already been set up on your
Smartphone, or you may have already been given this information.

Make sure your Smartphone is not connected to a desktop computer.

On the Home screen, press the Start soft key and select ActiveSync.
4.
Press the Menu soft key and select Options.

Select Server Settings.
6.
Select Connection.
7.
Under User name, enter your Microsoft Exchange user name.
8.
Under Password, enter your Microsoft Exchange password.
9.
Under Domain, enter the name of the domain of your Exchange server (if required).
10.
If you want the device to save your password so that you need not enter it when connecting,
select Save password.
11.
Under Server Name, enter the name of your Exchange server.
12.
Press the Done soft key three times to return to the main screen of ActiveSync.
13.
Press the Sync soft key to start synchronizing with your Exchange server.

Stopping Synchronizing with a Server

You can stop synchronizing an information type with a server on your Smartphone. However, to
change to synchronizing that information type with your desktop computer instead, you will need to
change the synchronization settings on the desktop computer. (For more information on
synchronization, see ActiveSync Help on the desktop computer.)

Make sure your Smartphone is not connected to a desktop computer.
2.
On the Home screen, press the Start soft key and select ActiveSync.
3.
Press the Menu soft key and select Options.
4.
Select Server Settings.
5.
Select the information type that you no longer want to synchronize with a server, such as
Inbox, Calendar, or Contacts.
6.
Clear the Sync [Information Type] with a server check box, and press the Done soft key.
