5. DAILY MAINTENANCE

5.1 Removing and Mounting the Document Hold-Down Unit

To clean the scanner, you must first remove the document hold-down unit. It is also necessary
to remove the document hold-down unit to remove a jammed document.
Removing the Document Hold-Down Unit
(1) Turn off the scanner.
(2) Open the top cover, holding it in the center.

(3) From inside the scanner, lift up the handle-rings provided at each side of the document
hold-down unit in order to lift the document hold-down unit up and off.
