Arranging Tracks

Pro Audio provides a variety of commands that let you work with the
tracks in your project. Here are some of the things you can do:
You can...
Rearrange the tracks in the Track
view so that they appear in a
different order
Make copies of a track
Erase or delete a track
All the commands you use to arrange tracks work on selected tracks. The
current track (the one containing the highlight) is always selected. You
can select additional tracks as shown in the table:
To do this...
Select a track
Select several adjacent tracks
Select all tracks
Add or remove a single track from
the selection
Here's why...
This makes it easier to see and work with
a subset of tracks, like the rhythm
section, or the vocals and vocal backing
tracks, or all muted tracks.
Copying a track and then adding a time
offset or changing the patch is an easy
way to double a part. You can also copy
and then transpose a track to add
harmony.
Tracks and clips that you are no longer
using in your project are distracting and
takes up space in your project file.
Do this...
Click the track number in the Track view.
The track is selected, and all other
tracks—except the current track—are
deselected.
Press and hold the left mouse button on
the first track in the group, drag the
mouse to the last track in the group, and
release the mouse button.
Click in the gray button above the track
numbers.
Hold the Shift key and click the track
number to add it to the selection; hold the
Ctrl key and click the track number to
toggle its selection status.
