9. Align the expansion board with the hot-plug expansion slot, and slide
the expansion board into the slot.

10. Connect any required cables to the PCI expansion board. Refer to the
documentation that ships with your expansion board or see Chapter 6,
"Server Cabling."
11. Close the slot release lever.
12. Press the PCI Hot Plug button.
13. Wait for the power LED to illuminate green without blinking.
14. Install the PCI shipping bracket, if necessary.
NOTE: The PCI shipping bracket is only required if you intend to ship the server with PCI
expansion boards installed. If you are not installing the bracket, store it for future use.
15. Close the PCI riser cage door.
16. Install the server access panel. See the "Installing the Access Panel"
section in Chapter 3, "Installing Hardware Options."
17. If your server is installed in the rack, secure the server by performing the
following:
a. Press the server rail-release latches to unlock the server rails.
b. Slide the server fully into the rack.
c. Fasten the thumbscrews on the front of the server.
18. Configure the expansion board using the documentation and software
that ships with the option.
