Make sure the printable side of the paper is loaded
correctly. For the sheet feeder, load cards with the printable
surface down; for the manual feed slot, load cards with the
printable surface up.

You may be able to select 720 dpi if your DOS program
supports 720-dpi printing. You can select from Bi-d, Uni-d,
or Auto print directions using the default-setting mode.
The Uni-d setting is recommended when printing at 720
dpi. See "Using the Default-Setting Mode" on page 6-4 for
details.
Do not load index cards that are curled or bent.
Return unused cards to their original package as soon
as possible after you finish printing. Unfavorable storage
conditions, such as high temperature, humidity, or direct
sunlight, can damage the paper.
If your index cards don't feed properly or jam, see Chapter 8.

Envelopes

When printing on envelopes, note the following:
Make sure that the adjust lever is set to the + position. The
adjust lever is located inside the printer. See "Setting the
adjust lever" on page 5-19.

Paper Handling
Caution:
Do not touch the printable surface of the paper. Hold the
cards by their edges. The moisture or oils on your fingers
can decrease the print quality.
