* Hot Spare disk at work cannot be unbound.
* Check the physical disk configuration by "0. View Current Settings" before unbinding Hot Spare.
(9) RANK Capacity Expansion
Select "9. Dynamic Capacity Expansion" on the menu, and type the parameters as follows:
* Only Windows 2000 and Solaris can use Expanding RANK capacity.
Dynamic Capacity Expansion
conf:expansion> PDG No. (0 - 3) hex =
conf:expansion> RANK No. (0 - 3f) hex =
conf:expansion> PDN (0 - 79) hex =
conf:expansion> Expansion Time (0 - 24) [0] hour =
Each parameter is described below.
- PDG No.
Type the RANK to be expanded and number of the PD group to which the PD belongs.
- RANK No.
Type the number of the RANK to be expanded.
* The RANK capacity can be expanded only for the RANK of which RAID type is 5.
- PDN
Type the number of a disk to be added to the RANK.
- Expansion Time
Specify a RANK expansion time. As the numeric value is lower, the expansion priority level gets higher;
oppositely, as the numeric value is greater, the expansion priority level gets lower. When 0 is specified,
however, expansion is performed preferentially.
* Be sure to confirm the disk configuration by selecting "0. View Current Settings" on the menu before executing
the RANK capacity expansion.
* When expanding multiple PDs, execute RANK capacity expansion for each PD. In this case, confirm that a
PD is expanded normally, then expand the next one.
