LD Binding which can be selected are the following three types:
High Reliability
: RAID1(1+1) --- The data reliability is high, but the allowable capacity is
low.
Standard
: RAID5(4+P) --- The data reliability and allowable capacity are medium.
Large Capacity1, 2
: RAID5(6+P) or RAID5(8+P) --- The allowable capacity is high, but data
reliability is relatively low.
(2) When LD is built by the Individual setting command (iSMconf)
If individual setting command is selected, LD Binding can be executed only for the extended PDs, and
it is not executed for LDs currently used. LD Binding can be selected from the followings. In
addition, different binding can also be selected for each RANK.
LD Binding: RAID1
RAID5
RAID0
RAID10
* RANKs of RAID0 can be used only under Windows 2000, or Solaris.
LD Binding is executed by the following procedure.
(a) RANK Bind
For RANK Bind method, refer to Part II 4.2.4 (1) "RANK Bind".
(b) LD Bind
For LD Bind method, refer to Part II 4.2.4 (4) "LD Bind".

An individual setting command can perform a setup of a disk array. Refer to Part I 1.4.2 (2) "Disk array
setting menu" for setting items. Change the configuration of the disk array after reading the manual of
the disk array carefully and understanding a function enough.
