(2) Logical disk configuration
In disk array, RAID is built from virtual media that bind two or more physical disks (PDs).
These virtual media are called "RANK" in the NEC Storage series disk array, and disk that
RANK is sub divided to easy-to-use size, is called logical disk (LD). On this account, one LD
can store data to two or more PDs that configure RANK.
