Construction of LD can be performed by two kinds of methods, batch setting command and individual
setting command. Batch setting command is selected when configuring LDs for all PDs mounted in
the disk array at the time of initial introduction of the disk array. Individual setting command is
selected when configuring LDs for PDs extended in the disk array, and when except LD to be
configured is supported (refer to Part I 3.1.2 (1) "Logical Disk Bind") with batch setting command.
Each setting command is described the following sections.
(1)
When LD is built by the Batch setting command (iSMautobind).
Batch setting command configures all LDs to the same RAID type and the same LD capacity. Batch
setting command is executed for all PDs mounted in disk array, according to the definitions specified
by users. If an LD is already on operation, and necessary data is stored in disk array, all data saved in
the LD is deleted by executing batch setting command. If the saved data is necessary, configure a new
LD for unused PDs by individual setting command.
