Process untilchopped. Forbestresults, make sure workbowland
ingredients areverydrybefore chopping garlic or fresh herbs.
Tochopnuts or makenut butters:
Process upto 3 cupsof nutsto desired texture, u sing shortpulses,
1 to 2 seconds each time.Foracoarser texture, p rocess smaller
batches, pulsing 1 or 2 times, 1 to 2 seconds each time.Pulse more
oftenforfinertexture. F ornut butters, p rocess continuously until
smooth. S tore in refrigerator.
Tochopcookedor raw meat,poultry, or seafood:
The foodshould bevery cold.Cutin 1-inch pieces. Process upto
2V2 pounds a t a timeto desired s ize, u sing shortpulses, 1 to
2 seconds each time.Scrape s ides o f bowlif necessary.
Tomakebread,cookie,or crackercrumbs:
Break f oodinto 1_ to 2-inch pieces. Process untilfine.Forlarger
pieces, pulse 2 to 3 times,1to 2 seconds each time.Thenprocess
untilfine.
Togratehard cheeses, suchasParmesan andRomano:

of a sharp knife. Y oucanusethe multipurpose blade to gratehard
cheeses. Cutcheese i n 1-inch pieces. Place i nworkbowl.Process,
using shortpulses, untilcoarsely chopped. Process continuously
untilfinelygrated.

To melt chocolate:
Combine chocolate and sugar from recipe in work bowl. Processuntil
