3.8 Servo Motor with Electromagnetic Brake
(1) Setting
Using parameter No.33 (electromagnetic brake sequence output), set a time delay from electromagnetic
brake operation to base circuit shut-off as in the timing chart shown in (2) in this section.
(2) Operation timing
(a) Servo on signal command (from controller) ON/OFF
Tb after the servo-on signal is switched off, the base circuit is shut off and the servo motor coasts.
The following chart shows the way of holding the motor shaft in vertical lift applications.
Adjust Tb (parameter No. 33) to minimize a drop after the servo-on signal is switched off.
Switch off the servo-on signal after the servo motor has stopped.
