11.5 Configuring Notification Options
The configuration of NPC notification modes has been fully described in Chapter 3 , "Configuration
Options", on page 31. Please refer to this chapter to see how to configure the following NPC
configuration options.
• Modem
• Fax
• Pager
• Broadcast
• E-Mail
• SNMP
11.5.1 Configuring Modem Settings
NPC needs to be configured with the proper settings for the host's fax/modem if fax or pager
notification is going to be used.
NPC modem settings include Serial Port and Baud Rate. If multiple modems are available on
different COM ports, each one can be entered. The NPC settings of each of these variables must
identically match the host's fax/modem configuration settings.
• Serial Port: choose from COM1 to COM16 in the drop box.
• Baud Rate: choose 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, or 57600 in the drop box.

event severity.
