Replacing the Flex Cable and Flex Cable Retainer

1. Set the ﬂex cable on top of the divider that separates the system board from the I/O

board.

2. Align the ﬂex cable connectors with the connectors of the I/O board. Press ﬁrmly to seat

the connectors. It requires considerable pressure to fully seat the connectors. Carefully

inspect the connection to ensure that the connectors are fully seated.

3. Repeat step 2 for the system board side of the ﬂex cable.

NOTE

The ﬂex cable and connectors are symmetrical and can be installed in either

orientation.

4. Fit the cable retainer over the ﬂex cable. The retainer should ﬁt snugly against the ﬂex

cable with the ejector handles ﬁtting into the four slots in the retainer. If the retainer

does not slip over the ﬂex cable, the ﬂex cable is not connected properly.
