quality for the original?
Is the paper damp?
Are the original cover or platen
dirty?
Is the machine in a high humidity
environment?

Is it in good condition?
Is the paper curled, folded, or
wrinkled?
Are any loose scraps of paper or is
there any jammed paper inside the

Corrective Actions
Select an appropriate original
image mode.
Replace the paper with new paper.
Clean the original cover or platen
glass.
Perform a drum refresh.

When placing originals on the
platen, place them face-down and
flush against the original size
indicator plates.
When placing originals in the
document processor, align the
original width guides securely
before placing the originals.
Check the position of the paper
width guides.
Load the paper correctly.
Remove the paper from the
cassette, turn it over, and reload it.
Replace the paper with new paper.
Remove any jammed paper.
Replace the paper with new paper.
Clean the slit glass.
Follow the procedure for correcting
black lines. This may remove the
black lines.
