Events communicate system information from the source of the event to other parts of the system,
then to you. Events are produced by intelligent hardware modules, the operating system, and
system firmware. Events funnel into the BMC from different sources throughout the server. iLO
2 polls the BMC for new events and stores them in nonvolatile memory.
SL also displays the contents of the iLO 2 Event Log. The records the following events:
iLO 2 MP login and logout attempts
Command logging for specific commands
All entries in the existing history log with more detail
Each time a user logs in or out of iLO 2, an event is logged. In the event of a login failure, an
event is logged if the number of continuous login failure attempts equals the password fault
value.
Command logging is run for the following commands: BP, CA, DC, DI, DNS, FW, ID,
IT, LC, LDAP, LM, PC, PM, PR, RB, RS, SA, SNMP, SO, TC, UC
Events are listed as follows:
SEL: System Error Log
FPL: Forward Progress Log
Boot Log
Previous Boot Log
Reading the SEL is the only way to turn off the attention LED (flashing yellow light).
Table 8-3
