Spin the jog dial right (or left for reverse
Iplayback) with your finger.
"The playback speed varies according to the speed you
spin the jog dial.
If you continue
slow motion playback
for more than 5
minutes,
the VCR will automatically
enter stop mode to
protect the tape.
The sound will be muted during various speed playback.
With tapes recorded
in PAL, SECAM,
MESECAM
or N-PAL
color systems at LP speed, the color fades during slow
motion playback
or high speed playback,

Press COUNTER
RESET at the point you want
to locate later.
The tape counter in the display window resets to
"0:00:00."

After playback or recording,
press ti STOP,
then ZERO RETURN.
The tape automatically
stops when the tape counter
returns to about "0:00 :00."
To cancel Zero
Press H STOP.

until the tape counter
appears.

QTo play, eject and switch off automatically
after tape counter
returns to about "0:00:00."
press ZERO RETURN
then press

PLAY, 4 EJECT or POWER
within 2 seconds.
When you insert a cassette,
the tape counter
is reset to
"0:00:00."
The tape counter does not work while playing unrecorded
portions
of tape.
The VCR automatically
marks an index signal on the tape
each time recording starts. "INDEX
flashes on the TV
screen while the VCR marks an index signal. You can use
these signals to find the beginning of any recording.

SEARCH/lNDEX
(for succeeding
programs)
or <+ SEARCH/lNDEX
(for preceding
programs)
repeatedly
during stop until the index
number (up to 20) you want appears on the TV
screen.
The VCR starts searching.
When
the VCR detects
the index
number,
playback
starts
automatically
from the beginning
of the specified
recording.
Index number
You can also use the display window
to check the index number
you specified.
"INDEX
and the index number will appear in the
display window
when you press <~/P>
SEARCH/lNDEX.
Index signals should be at least 1 minute apart in SP
mode,
2 minutes apart in
LP
mode, and 3 minutes apart in EP
mode. Otherwise, the VCR cannot detect them properly.
Index signals may not be detected on damaged or worn out
tapes.
Index signals may not be detected at the beginning of
recordings where the tape speed is different from the
previous program.
The index signal at the beginning of a recorded tape may not
be detected.
The index search indicator and index number do not appear
if the display mode is off.
