2.3 Warnings
Attention Consult Operating Manual: Ensure you are familiar with all
sections of this operating manual prior to using The stimulator.
WARNING! Failure to heed the following warnings and precautions may cause
serious injury, death or damage to the equipment which may render the
equipment to be unusable or unsafe.
Operator & Viewer Safety: People with the following conditions (including
operators) should be excluded from the vicinity of the stimulator during operation:
•
Pregnant women
•
Implanted medical devices (as described in contraindications "2.1
Contraindications" on page 20).
•
Implanted metal, or metallic tattoos (as described in contraindications "2.1
Contraindications" on page 20).
Removable devices or objects that may be affected by the magnetic field, should
be removed from the area before treatment (e.g. earrings, hearing aids, eyeglasses,
cell phones, MP3 players, etc.) to prevent possible injury or damage to the device.
This also includes wearable monitors and bone growth stimulators.
Magnetic Pulses: the system generates high intensity magnetic pulses
through its coils, which induce currents in any conductive medium, such as the
human body, nearby metallic objects or electronic devices. Therefore, the system:
• Must not be used in a position where a current can be induced in cables or
wires directly connected to the subject;
• Must not be used in the vicinity of objects that are sensitive to magnetic fields,
such as watches, credit cards and electronic equipment;
• Must not be used when resting on a metal surface, as the coil could be repelled
from the surface with significant force and noise; and
• Must not be used in the vicinity of implanted conductive or medical electronic
devices. This includes (but is not limited to) pacemakers, implantable
cardioverter defibrillators (ICD's), vagus nerve stimulators (VNS) and wearable
cardioverter defibrillators (WCD).
