3.1 Preparation And Placement

Important: Please make sure you have read and understood the "Warnings,
Symbols & Contraindications" on page 19 before use.
Before use the equipment should be checked for any damage or tampering,
including the casings, power entry module and cables.
If the equipment is found to be damaged or faulty, do not use and contact the
service department to arrange a repair or replacement. Contact details can be
found on page ii.
• The stimulator should be positioned near to the power sockets, while ensuring
easy reach to the control dial
and the treatment chair.
• The stimulator cart brakes must be applied to the wheels before use. The Power
Supply Unit (PSU) must be placed on the anti-slip mat on the top shelf of the
cart with the mainframe aligned on top of the PSU.
• The entrance/s to the room should be clearly labelled to warn of the presence
of strong magnetic fields and to exclude those wearing pacemakers and/or
electronic/conductive implants and pregnant women.
• The cart should be positioned behind the treatment chair with the brakes
applied and close enough that the arm can easily reach.
• The power cable/s must be connected directly to 230V 15A wall socket and not
via a terminal block or extension lead. Take care to ensure cables do not pose
a trip hazard and secure cables where necessary.

3.2 Cable Connection

The installation and connection of The stimulator will be performed by a Magstim
representative.
The cable routing and connection is provided here should you need to disconnect,
or re-connect any cabling.
Important: Ensure the stimulator is disconnected from the mains power before
accessing the stimulator cables.
• The cables should be connected as shown overleaf
• Ensure the earth strap/s
(and plus 1 if applicable) and that none of the cables are loose.
• Each power cable should be connected directly to a 230V 15A wall socket. The
power cable filter box should be placed on the floor next to the cart.
