Recording level
The recording level can be
checked on the viewfinder screen
or the VTR display section. The
recording level is optimum when
NOMAL 120 260 $00 10004 the level indicator shows about 0
SHUTTER asat| dB with the loudest input.

Turn the control.
Audio level checking
The recording level can be checked on the viewfinder screen
or the VTR display section.
1. Open the function box cover by pushing the unlock lever to
the rear.
2. Set the Hi-Fi ALC switch to OFF.
(For automatic control of the Hi-Fi audio recording level, set
the switch to ON.)
3. Select the audio track to be checked with the AUDIO
SELECT switch.
Hi-Fi : Hi-Fi audio track
NOR : Normal audio track
MIX : A mixture of the two
4. Check the audio level.
@ Referring to the VTR display section, it is possible to
check both channels independently.
e Referring to the viewfinder screen, call up the Mode-0
status display. The L and R channels are mixed and the
level is indicated in 7 steps. ("+" corresponds to 0 dB.)
5. Adjust the audio level.
@ When the Hi-Fi ALC is in the OFF position, the Hi-Fi
audio recording level and balance are adjusted manually.
(See the figure, left.)
@ The normal audio (monaural) recording level is adjusted
automatically.
@ If the recording level is excessively high, howling might
occur, or warning messages will be picked up and
recorded.
e The warning messages from the monitor speaker can be
defeated using the memory function. (See page 32.)
