Full-time auto white
"Full-time auto white" is a function which allows the white
balance setting to automatically track the lighting no matter how
the lighting condition may vary during shooting. The full-time
auto white mode is automatically engaged regardless of the
setting of the W. BAL switch when recording is initiated using
the quick-recording trigger.
This unit is capable of holding white balance settings adjusted
according to the lighting condition in memory.
White balance modes
Set the white balance mode as required with the W. BAL
switch.
AUTO 1,AUTO 2:
To obtain automatically adjusted white
balance settings. It is also possible to use
the full-time auto white in the AUTO2
position.
To use a preset white balance setting
corresponding to a color temperature of
3200K with the filter control set to 1.
® When the switch is reset, the corresponding mode is
displayed on the viewfinder screen for a few seconds.
White balance memories AUTO 1 and AUTO 2
This unit has two independent memories which are capable of
storing independent white balance settings. !t is possible to set
filter-linked white balance settings for each memory.
PRESET
Prior to shipment
AUTO 1 :Filter-linked operation.
AUTOZ2_:No filter-linked operation.
To store settings into memory
1. Set the filter control according to the lighting condition.
2. Select the memory (AUTO 1 or AUTO 2) with the W. BAL
switch.
3. Perform white balance adjustment. (See page 20.)
4. The white balance setting in the selected filter position will
be stored in memory.
e When filter-linked operation is not used, the white balance
will vary if the filter position is changed.
@ In filter-linked operation, store white balance settings at
each filter position following steps 1 through 4.
e Setting to filter-linked operation is performed using the
memory function. (See page 32.)
@ White balance may not be perfect if the entire picture has
a uniform colour tone.
@ Use this function in emergency shooting, when there is no
time to adjust white balance, or no white balance settings
are held in memory.
@ It is also possible to program the memory so that the full-
time auto white mode is engaged by setting the W. BAL
switch to AUTO 2. (See page 32.)
