Usable video cassettes
This unit is capable of recording and playback in the S-VHS
mode. To take advantage of the high resolution and high
picture quality available with the S-VHS system, use video
cassettes marked "S-VHS-C". (S-VHS cassettes can also be
used in the conventional VHS mode.)
Setting the S-VHS mode select switch
1. Open the function box cover by pushing the unlock lever to
the rear.
2. Set the S-VHS switch as required.
@ To record in the S-VHS
mode,
set the switch to
ON/AUTO.
S-VHS recordings are not possible with VHS-C cassettes.
With
these
cassettes,
the VHS
mode
is selected
automatically.
® To record in the VHS mode, set the switch to OFF.
The VHS
mode
is selected
regardless
of the type of
VTR display panel
cassette.

e In playback, there is no need to set the S-VHS mode
select switch because the mode of the recorded signal is
detected and switching is automatic.
@ The S-VHS indicator lights during recording and playback
in the S-VHS mode.
Connecting an external microphone
By using the optional KA-A10 microphone holder, an external
microphone (optional) can be connected.
@ Usable microphones
MK-50 (monaural)
MV-P602 (stereo)
MV-P612 (stereo)
When an external microphone is connected, set the MIC
SELECT switch to "EXT".
