8 Chapter 1: Before you begin

Overview

The Matrox 4Sight XV6 unit is a self-contained, expandable imaging computer
that integrates processing and display capabilities, along with image capture from
USB3 Vision and/or GigE Vision cameras. Matrox 4Sight XV6 supports
networking and industrial communication (over GigE Ethernet ports or
RS-232/RS-485 ports)
available to add additional boards, storage, and memory, respectively.
Matrox 4Sight XV6 includes a motherboard, Long-DIMM memory modules, an
M.2 solid state mass storage device and two fans, all of which are encased within
a rugged metal chassis. The XV6I5M32CT model also includes a pre-installed
GPU board. You can install Matrox or third-party full-height, half-length PCIe
boards in the Matrox 4Sight XV6 unit (such as frame grabbers and I/O boards).
1. Note that the PROFINET protocol is not supported. For support, you can install a
Matrox board that supports hardware-assisted PROFINET communication (such as
Matrox Indio).
