To shift gears, move the control
lever to select the FORWARD,
NEUTRAL, or REVERSE gear.
The control lever cannot be
moved from the NEUTRAL
position unless the neutral
release lever is squeezed (flush-
mount/single top-mount types).
Moving the control lever beyond
the gear selection range
increases engine speed.

Adjust the control lever friction
adjuster so the gearshift/throttle
control lever will hold a constant
throttle setting while cruising.
