Hardware configuration precautions
This section explains the precautions to take with hardware configurations.
(1) The PC Used with the AD57GPE
The personal computer must be an IBM PC/AT or 100% compatible.
The main memory must have 640K bytes.
A VGA board must be installed.
• A color CRT must support VGA.
• An EMS board (1 M bytes or more) must be installed to the extended
memory.
• An RS-232C interface board for one or more channels must be
installed as the communications port.
Use a Microsoft mouse as the mouse. (The mouse is connected to
the COM1 port.)
Note:
If
a
VGA board which is not 100% compatible is used, some colors
displayed on
a
GEDE screen are reversed or appear differently from
set colors.
When monitoring is executed on the AD57GE, colors are displayed
normally or exactly
as
set.
(2) The printer that can handle data from an AD57GPE/G-controller module
The printer must support ESC/P.

ROM Writer
Use a ROM writer that can handle a 4 M-bit ROM.
The ROM writer must support Intelec HEX format.
(
The ROM writer is necessary for storing G-controller monitor data tol
the ROM. The ROM writer is connected to the COM2 port.
