5. MONITOR FUNCTIONS AND THEIR USE

[Monitor screen creation]
The following explains what to set to use the monitor switching function.
(1) Graphic data created by using the GEDE
It is not necessary to create a canvas screen to switch the monitor
screen.
(2)
Settings by using the AD57GPE
The monitoring condition in the Set screen switching device window must
be set.
This setting is common to all monitor screens. Therefore, the setting
contents are valid during monitoring no matter which monitor screen is
displayed.
The monitoring conditions that should be set at each setting item of the
window are explained below.
The Operating Manual gives details about item setting methods.

Sequence program created by using the PC CPU
A sequence program is necessary to write the monitoring screen number
of the switching destination to the screen number setting device.
However, it is not necessary to create a sequence program for switching
the monitoring screen in the following cases:
(a) When the sequence program data for doing monitoring control can
be used as is.
(b) When the monitoring screen is switched by a keyboard connected to
the G-controller by using the monitoring function which writes
numerical value data to a device (see Sections 5.7.1 and 5.7.4).
