5. MONITOR FUNCTIONS AND THEIR USE

*1 A comment created by using the general-purpose text editor can be
utilized.
Utilize it in accordance with the following:
1) Register the file where the comment is stored (hereafter called
the comment file) in the directory which contains the canvas file
([] .SCR) for the monitor screen.
The comment file name must be the same as the sub-system
name of the canvas file and the identifier is TXT.
(Comment file name: sub-system name of a canvas file. TXT )
2) Comments in a comment fiie can only consist of character strings.
Do not write attributes (such as display colors).
3) Input CR and LF (codes: DOH and OAH) immediately after each
character string of every comment number.
The first character string is handled as a comment for comment
number O.
4) The character string must consist of the following characters:
20H to DFH of IBM standard ASCII code
5) There are max. 80 characters per character string (CR and LF are
not included).
If the number of characters per character string exceeds 80
characters, the character string from the 81 st character just
before CR is ignored.
6) Register only CR and LF to the comment number with which a
comment is not registered.
However, when the present line where a comment is created is
under the 32768th line, when not creating a comment after the
present line + 1 line, it is not necessary to register CR and LF.
