1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

As indicated below, the G-controller module has more functions than previous
types of AD57G graphic controller module.

Appendix 4 gives details about the compatibility between G-controller

modules and compares their functions. Always consult this appendix when
using screen data created by a previous system.
(1)
Screen data (monitor data) can also be stored to a memory card
Monitoring is executed by using monitor data stored to a memory card
installed onto the module.
Monitor data can be stored to the canvas ROM or two memory cards
(total 3 places). Before starting monitoring, designate the storage area
from where the monitor data will be read and used for monitoring.

The number of part types that can be displayed has been increased
The number of parts (for parts display, part locus, and part movement)
has been increased from 100 to 255.
Up to 255 parts can be displayed by setting the part display switch
registration to direct designation.
(3)
The number of character strings that can be displayed has been in-
creased
The number of character strings that can be displayed has been in-
creased from 2 to 32768.
Up to 32768 character strings (registered by monitor condition selling)
can be displayed by setting the monitor device of the character string
display function to word device.
(4)
The word device SET function can be used for device writing
By pressing a key registered for monitor condition setting, fixed data or
preset data of a word device can be written to a set word device.
(5)
Dual-function setting ofa device write trigger key is possible
If the same key is registered as the write trigger key for (a) writing an
input numerical data or character string, and (b) SET/RST of bit devices,
several bit devices can be turned ON/OFF when input of the numerical
data or character string has been completed.
(6)
Remote operations can be done in the STOP mode
By using the SW1IX-AD57GPE the following G-controller module remote
operations can be done in the STOP mode (which corresponds to the
conventional test mode) from a PC/AT.
