BOLTING MOTOR TO TRANSOM
With the motor resting on the boat transom, verify correct motor
Apply sealant.
Apply sealant.
height. Motor can be raised by using a lower set of mounting holes.
Apply Marine silicone sealer or equivalent to the mounting bolt holes
from both sides as shown.
Secure the motor by installing the six Hex bolts (12 x 130 mm) [1]
[4]
and plain washers (12 mm) (O.D. 22 mm) [2] from the motor side.
Install the six plain washers (12 mm) (O.D. 33 mm) [3], plain
washers (12 mm) (O.D. 22 mm) [2] and twelve Hex nuts (12 mm)
[4], and tighten the nuts to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 54 N•m (5.5 kgf•m, 40 lbf•ft)
The bolts must have the sufficient thread length to tighten down and
have at least two or three threads past the end of the Hex nut.

If the molding of the transom upper edge [1] interferes with the
outboard stern bracket, add the plate [2] or modify the transom to
[1]
remove any raised edges and install the outboard stern bracket to
the boat transom securely.
Using an air impact tool to tighten or loosen the transom bolts can
generate enough heat to damage the bolt threads. The air impact
tool can also produce enough tightening torque to damage the boat
transom.

CABLE/WIRE ROUTING
Pass the cables and fuel tube through the separate cover.
DBW model shown:
Route the drop cable (DBW model) [1] or indicator cable
(Mechanical model) [1] in the engine under case.
