Poor Sound Quality or Inability to Place Call
If the quality of the sound is poor;

Check the telephone line cord and handset coiled cord as detailed in
the previous procedure. Be sure to make the correct connections. If
symptom remains, proceed to step 2.

Check 2-wire/4-wire selection in installation options, if incorrectly
set, the terminal does not break dial tone when you try to dial.

Connect aknown good SECTEL 1500 to the telephone line cord. If
the sound improves, the SECTEL 1500 has aproblem. Contact the
Motorola Customer Service Representative. If the sound does not
improve, contact the telephone company.

If you are unable to load aCIK, it could be that the ZERO button at the
back of the terminal is in the zeroize position (the white portion of the but¬
ton is visible). Lift the cover and check the ZERO button.
The white portion of button should not be visible. If the zeroize button is
OK, contact the Motorola Customer Representative.
S p e a k e r p h o n e N o t Wo r k i n g
If the speakerphone fails to operate:

Press the SPKR |button and check to see if the SPKR annunciator
comes on. If it does not come on, contact the cognizant security per¬
son to find out if the terminal has been programmed for speakerphone
operation. If it has, contact the Motorola Representative for instruc¬
tions regarding the faulty SECTEL 1500.

If the speakerphone sounds is inaudible, increase the speaker volume
(press IvolAI). If the sound from the remote phone breaks up, check
the telephone line cord as detailed in previous procedures.
