Data Protocol Settings for SECTEL 1500
The SECTEL 1500's external data connector is configured by the proce¬
dure below. The following comments should be noted concerning the termi¬
nal's operation.
If this port is configured for synchronous operation the modem rate will estab¬
lish the data rate, except that the 4.8 simultaneous mode uses 2400 bps data.
If the port is configured for asynchronous operation, its data rate is inde¬
pendent of the modem operational rate used for secure calls. If the port is
set for aslower rate than the modem rate (less than 2400 bps), data will be
transferred at the slower rate. If the port is configured for arate higher than
the modem rate (greater than 2400 bps) then the RS232C hardware CTS
flow control should be implemented in the DTE to guard against loss of
d a t a .
After setting the DTE communication protocols, use the following proce¬
dure to set the SECTEL 1500's data protocols to the same values.
