The SECTEL 1500 has hardware configuration options that can further cus¬
tomize it to specific requirements. The following paragraphs explain these
configuration options and show the factory settings (defaults) in parentheses.
N O T E
Thefactoiy sets the SECTEL 1500 to operate in most office environments. In most
cases, the hardware configuration options do not need changing. However, prop¬
erly certified and trained users may change the hardware configuration options for
special applications. Refer to the SECTEL 1500 Service Manual for detailed
instructions on customizing the SECTEL 1500.
F a i l - t o - P O T E n a b l e / D i s a b l e ( E n a b l e )
This controls the POT (plain-old-telephone) option. If the terminal loses
power with this option enabled, the terminal will communicate in clear
mode. To place acal! while the terminal is in POT mode, take the handset
off-hook (the speakerphone will be inoperable), pressIclearI ,dial the
phone number (memory dial keys will be inoperable). To receive acall,
press IclearI when the phone rings, then pick up the handset.

Determines whether the terminal generates DTME or pulse dialing in POT
m o d e .

The ring signal on AUTOVON networks is typically alower level signal
than the standard telephone system. The ring sensitivity of the SECTEL
1500 can be increased if the factory setting does not detect the ring signal.
System Capacitance Selection (Cl)
This option controls the system capacitance. The user should change this
option to C2 if the terminal operates in Sweden, or C3 if the terminal oper¬
ates in Norway.
System Select 600 ohms/900 ohms (600 ohms)
This system select option controls the line impedance selection. The user
should change this option to 900 ohms for terminals that operate in Norway
