When the SECTEL 1500 setting matches the DTE setting, press
IPRGMI. The SECTEL 1500 stores the setting and exits program mode.

D A T A
After setting the data protocols of the DTE and the SECTEL 1500, the
equipment is ready for use in the data mode.
Use the following procedure to transmit data.

Place aclear call to the person sending/receiving data. Refer to Plac¬
ing Clear Calls in Chapter 6, Voice Communication.

Tell them you are ready to transmit/receive data and give your cuirent
communication protocol settings. The data protocol settings must be

Press IvoiCE/DAT^. Be sure the DATA annunciator comes on. If not,
press IVOICE/DATA Iagain.
N O T E
To enter the secure data mode, the RS-232C signal 'Data Terminal Ready' (DTR)
from the DTE must be asserted.

(2) To send/receive secure data insert CIK and turn it one quarter turn
clockwise. Press Isecure!. The DATA annunciator stays on if both
users have connected the DTE correctly, set the data communication
protocols the same, and are in the data mode. The SECTEL 1500 is
ready to send/receive data when the SECURE annunciator comes on.
At this time, you may place the handset on-hook until you are ready to
e x i t t h e m o d e .
