Do not open or tamper with the SECTEL 1500 power converter. To do so consti¬
tutes improper alteration to the unit and automatically terminates the warranty on
the power converter.
When power is applied, the SECTEL 1500 runs aself-test to check for mal¬
functions. The message RINGER MEDIUM-HI appears if the terminal
functions properly. If not, the terminal displays an error message associated
with the malfunction. Refer to Appendix A, Display Messages, for more
information on the error message.
N O T E
If the terminal shows the message "ZEROIZE ACTIVE" on the message display,
the zeroize button on the rear panel of the phone should be pressed. The white por¬
tion of the button should not be showing.
If the screen remains blank, adjust the position of the contrast adjustment knob,
check all cord connections, and check the message display again. Refer to
Message Display Contrast Adjustment in this chapter for more information.
