Adjustment method
Set the heel height while seated. Then hold on to a suitable object, stand up
and test whether the set heel height is appropriate or needs to be corrected
again.
Setting the heel height
1) Note how your prosthesis feels when you walk barefoot.
2) Sit down.
3) Note the angle of your prosthetic leg when you sit barefoot and the pros
thetic foot is flat on the floor.
4) Put on the shoes you want to wear now.
5) CAUTION! Do not put any weight on the prosthesis while setting
the heel height. There is a risk of injury given the freely movable
nature of the prosthetic foot.
Unlock the ankle joint: Push the lock axis in from the medial direction
as far as it will go (see fig. 7). The ankle joint can now be moved.
6) Push the tip of the prosthetic foot towards the sole of the foot as far as it
will go (plantar flexion).
7) Place your prosthetic leg on the floor. The shoe should be flat on the
floor and the prosthetic leg should have the same angle as it has when
you are sitting barefoot.
8) Lock the ankle joint: Push in the lateral lock axis as far as it will go (see
fig. 8). The ankle joint is now locked and can bear weight once more.
9) Hold on to a suitable object, stand up and test whether the heel height
setting is appropriate.
7 Cleaning
1) Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth.
2) Dry the product with a soft cloth.
3) Allow to air dry in order to remove residual moisture.
8 Maintenance
► A visual inspection and functional test of the prosthetic components
should be performed after the first 30 days of use.
► During regular inspection: Inspect the prosthesis for signs of wear and
check its function.
► Conduct annual safety inspections.
