ROTOCLEAR S3
For safe operation of the unit, a back pressure of
2-5 mbar (200-500 Pa) is required at the connec-
tion box.
The back pressure must not exceed 2 bar.

A suitable measuring device is available as an ac-
cessory.
Check the purge air pressure at the connection
box (Fig. 13-A) using the manometer (Fig. 13-B)
(accessory). To do this, screw the adapter plate
of the manometer onto the open connection box
and regulate the supply line until the necessary
pressure is reached.
The supply pressure can be adjusted to approx.
0.5 bar with the supply lines provided. Depend-
ing on the distance between the feed and the
Rotoclear S3, a pressure of 0.3 – 2.0 bar may be
necessary to achieve the required back pressure
at the connection box.
Precise adjustment reduces the air consumption
as well as the corresponding costs.
Please ensure that the purge air supplied is dry,
clean and correctly adjusted.
If necessary, pre-treat the purge air using a ser-
vice unit with a multi-stage filter system.
Pay attention to the requirements for the purge air
which are indicated in the section "Specifications".
Ensure that all screw connections and cable
glands are screwed tightly in place and that no air
can escape into the supply line.
Installation without purge air
Air must be able to flow through the connection
box and the protective hose into the unit to main-
B
tain the air flow created by the rotation of the win-
dow. Instead of connecting a purge air line (Fig.
10-G) to the pneumatic plug-in connection (Fig.
10-H), the line must be removed or the connection
left open.
It is vital to ensure that air can flow in and that the
plug connection is not covered or closed.
A perfectly clear view cannot be guaranteed. The
view can be affected, for example, by humidi-
ty, temperature differences and the air supply to
the unit. A purge air supply can be connected at
any time if the conditions do not allow for a clear
view and, for example, the unit or machinery glass
turns foggy.
Special case: Replacement kit for S
and S2
A purge air supply is not provided for the stan-
dard version of the replacement kit for S and S2.
The sealing concept corresponds to that of the
previous models. If this is insufficient, it is possible
to retrofit a purge air supply to seal the unit in line
with the Rotoclear seal guarantee. Please contact
Rotoclear Customer Service.
