Silvia PID Installation Guide
Part S
Version 96-1.01
Next, reinstall the stainless steel screw through the bottom panel of the front enclosure
and into the brew group. The lock washer goes on first, followed by the smooth washer.
This is usually a rather challenging operation because of the location of this screw and
the fact that the magnetic tip on your screwdriver will not attract the screw. We have
been successful using a very small drop of cyanoacrylate glue (SuperGlue) on the tip of
the screwdriver to hold the screw until it is aligned and installed. Once the screw is
tightened, the bond created by the glue is easily broken.
Finally, replace the steam knob. You will need to line up the flat side of the valve shaft
with the mating flat spot on the knob shaft. Site down the shaft to get the correct
orientation. There is no need to push the knob in so far that it binds on the stainless steel
panel. We usually leave a 1mm gap between the stainless steel panel and the knob.
