Check
Correction
4, Check the belt tension if proper.
Adjust it to the best tension, in reference
to the paragraph discussing the belt ten-
sion.
5. Platen does not rotate
. Platen
1. Check the platen if it is properly set
on its given location.
if there is an axial play, remove the play
and re-tighten the screw.
. Paper feed motor
1. Check the paper feed motor connec-
tor.
Refer to 1-3-1
2. Check continuity of the motor.
Refer to 1-11-1.
3. Motor drive circuit.
Refer to 1-12-1.
. Idle gear
Check the PF idle gear if rotates smooth
or check for a damage in the gear.
Replace the gear,
if fails to rotate or
rotation is heavy, or a damage was dis-
covered.
. PF idle spring
1. Check the PF idle spring if not dis-
engaged.
Have the spring corrected to engage.
2. Check the PF idle spring if not
damaged.
Replace it if damage was seen.
. Platen
1. Check the platen setscrew
if not
loose.
Tighten the setscrew firm.
2. Check for a damage in components.
Replace it if damage was seen.
. Platen rotation
1. Replace platen paris if smooth rota-
tion was not seen.
Manually rotate the platen to check if
itrotates smooth.
_ If all above are correct.
| 1. Main PWB

Replace the main PWB.
6. Paper not fed
. Release lever
1. Check the release lever if it is on the | +
If not, set it on the release position.

. Feed roller
1. Check
the
feed
roller if rotates | +
If not rotating, replace the feed roller
together with the platen.
and the rolter holder.
7. LCD does not display
text normally.
. Contrast volume
1. Turn the volume to change the con-
'trast and check that the contrast can
be properly adjusted.
ifnot adjusted, proceed the next step.
. LCD cable
1. Check conduction of the cable.
If not conducted, replace the cable.
} . Power voltage
1. Check that the LCD negative power
voltage and the LCD logic power
voltage
are
within
the
specified
range.
(-24V41.5V, +5V +0.25V)
If outside the range, repair or replace
the main board.
} . LCD control signal
+. Check that the specified pulse volt-
age is outputted at S, CP1, CP2,
LDO~ 3.
if not, repair or replace the main
board.
. No trouble is found in
the above checks.
Replace the LCD unit.
8. Floppy disk
readiwrite error
occurs,
. Floppy disk media
1. Write protection notch is set at write
protection position.
Slide the write protection notch to the
write enable
position,
and proceed
the next check,
2. Check that the same error occurs in
anew media or not.
If the same error occurs, proceed the
next check.
. . Floppy disk cable
1, Conduction check
If not conducted, replace the cable.
. Power voltage
1. Check
that the floppy disk drive
power voltage is within the specified
range. (+5V + 0.25V)
If outside the range, repair o: replace
the main board.
. Floppy disk control
signal
1. Check that the output signal from the
board is at the specified pulse volt-
age.
2. Check that the input signal to the
board is at the specified pulse volt-
age.
lf the specified pulse voltage is not
observed, repair or replace ne main
board.
if the specified pulse voltage is not
observed,
replace the flogpy disk
drive.
9. TheLCD backlight
will not light up.
. Backlight cable
1. Check
conduction
of the
cable.
(Check in the slide volume side, too.)
if not conducted, replace thec able.
. Power voltage
1. Check that the backlight input volt-
age is within the specified range.
(15V
+ 0.5V)
If outside the range, repair o replace
the main board.
} . No trouble
is found in
the above checks.
Replace the invertor
and the cool
CRT.
