9. Hammer impression
. Have "H" printed continuously on a
paper or using a carbon paper and
check impression.
If impression is not even, adjust the
hammer gap.

Carriage travel
. Connector connection
Refer to 1-3-1.
. . Check motor continuity.
Refer to 1-7-1.
. . Motor drive circuit.
Refer to 1-8-1.
. Check the belt tension is appropriate.
Adjust it to the best setting, in refer-
ence to the belt tension
adjustment
procedure.
4. Correction failure
1. Correction tape
. Check the correction tape if properly
installed or not used up.
Make it correctly installed.
Replace it with a new one.
2. Correction tape lift
. Check the R-ADJUST PIN if properly
seating in the slit of the cam.
If not, make it corrected.
. Check the tension of the correction
tape if correct.
If the tension was not added, check
or replace the back tension spring of
the right tape holder.

} . Check the shift rate of the correction
tape if correct.
If not, adjust the rate of shift, im refer-
ence
to paragraph
discussing
rib-
bon/correction tape shift rate zadjust-
ment.
3. Correction tape feed
. Shift the correction tape to see if the
tape advances.
If not, adjust the shift rate, in refer-
ence to (the paragraph discussing the
ribbon/correction tape shift rate ad-
justment.
4. Correction deviation
. Check for inclusion of alien object
between the drive gear and the belt.
if there is, clean it away.
. Check the hammer if it has a play.
If too much play was seen, replace
the hammer.
. With the CR
motor
not installed,
check the slide action of the carriage.
If the
slide
movement
is heavy,
remove the slide shaft and clean the
carriage bushing and the shaft,
