and power switch are
turned on, ihe
carriage, ribbon
wheel, and paper
feed mechanism will
not operate properly.
. Power voltage
. Check
that the power
unit output
voltage is within the range of rated
voltage +10%,
If not, replace the power unit.
. Check for short in the power line.
If short is found, repair or replace the
board.
. Check
the output voltage of the
power circuit, (+5V £0.25V, +15.7
40.5V)
If the voltage is outside the specified
range, repair or replace the board.
. Fuse
if blown off, replace.
. Check the RESET voltage (+5V
20.25V).
If outside the specified range, repair or
replace the main board.
} . Connector
. Check the connections of the power
connector,
carriage, flat cable con-
nector, carriage origin signal connec-
tor, other motor connectors, and car-
riage board connectors.
If improperly connected, connect proper-
ly.
} . Carriage flat cable
. Check cable conduction.
If not conducted, replace the cable.
} . . Ribbon motor
. Check motor resistors.
(Check pin No. and standard resis-
tance)

. Observe
the initial operation pulse
voltage of IC4 (11, 12, 13, 14 pins).

circuit
. Observe the initial operation pulse
voltage of IC6 (2, 7, 10, 15 pins).
