[6] ADJUSTMENT
When disassembly and reassembly are made the following adjust-
ments should be performed in order to assure beautiful print quality.
(1) Print ribbon height adjustment
(2)
Print wheel home position adjustment
(3)
Platen/print wheel spoke clearance adjustment
(4) Platen/paper holder clearance adjustment
(5)
Hammer height adjustment
(6)
Belt tension adjustment
(7) Indication adjustment
6-1. Print ribbon height adjustment
1, Print ruled lines and underlines alternately, and erase them.
2. Check the trace of a correctable ribbon and the erasing trace of a
correction tape. (Fig. 6-1)
3. If the traces are outside the reference value, move R-adjuster (1)
to Aor to B and move the ribbon holder up and down so that the
traces are within the specified range.
Reference value: a2 0.5mm, bz 0.5mm, cz 0.5mm, d& 0.5mm
4. When aprint as shown in Fig. 6-2 is obtained.
5. When aprint as shown in Fig. 6-3 is obtained.
Move R-Adjuster (1) in direction of arrow A.
6. Repeat procedures 1 and 2 to check again.
Adjust so that the measured values becomes as a=b=c=d.

6-2. Printwheel home position adjustments
The home
position of the printwheel
must be adjusted after the
printwheel is disassembled.
6-2-1. Checking initial state and making fine
adjustment (Fig. 6-4, Fig. 6-5)
(1) Set the printwheel in the carriage
(2) Turn power on. After completion of the initialization, push the
point (B) straight in the arrow direction (A) and check the loca-
tion of the hammer with the underscore V locator (Fig. 6-5)
