6. Close and latch the hood.
Servicing the Air Cleaner
• Check the whole intake system for leaks, damage, or loose hose clamps. Do not use a
damaged air filter.
• Service the air-cleaner filter at the recommended service interval or earlier if engine
performance declines due to extremely dusty, dirty conditions. Changing the air filter
before it is necessary only increases the chance of dirt entering the engine when the filter
is removed.
Ensure that the cover is seated correctly, seals with the air-cleaner body, and the
rubber outlet valve is in a downward position—between the 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock
positions when viewed from the end.
