Configuration and encryption

The XML API supports two types of encryption:
 Transport encryption:
encrypts the entire outgoing data stream.
Incoming XML commands are only accepted and executed if they are encrypted
with the identical key and initialisation vector.
 Password encryption:
In this mode, only the passwords of user accounts in the G&D
device's XML responses are encrypted. For this purpose, a subset of the XML
encryption (see page 32) is used.
Using XML commands, you can send passwords in this mode either encrypted
(recommended) or in plain text to the device.

Configuring the device's accesses for XML control

Use the web application Config Panel to define the »Remote Control« accesses and
their settings.
