6.5. Electrical Connection Between the Inverter and Battery Packs
6.5.1. Electrical Connection Between the Inverter and SMILE-Bat series
Communication cable connection:
a. Remove the battery communication cable from the battery packaging
b. Pass the battery communication cable through the cable gland of the COM connection
cover of SMILE-G3-INV, don't tighten the strain relief clamp of the cable glands.
Insert the RJ45 plugs to the BMS communication port on the Inverter Com ports la-

belled "BMS".
The battery communication ports of the Smile-Bat series are at the top right of the

battery, unscrew the 4 screws of the communication panel and remove it.
Loosen the strain relief clamp of the cable gland on the battery communication panel,
e.
pass the battery communication cable through the cable gland and insert the RJ45 plug
to the BMS communication port of the Smile-Bat Battery Module.
f. Only secure the covers in place after the CTs/Meter comms cable, the BMS cable and
the LAN cable (if used) have been clipped into their respective Ports.
g. When securing the cover over the comm ports, tighten the cover in place and then
lightly push the comms cables into the cover as you tighten the strain relief gland onto
the cables. This will ensure the comms cables are well-seated in the RJ45 ports.
h. Similarly secure the cable, gland and cover over the battery BMS connection
Power cable connection:
a. Remove the battery power cables from the battery packaging.
b. Remove the protective caps from the battery power connectors.
Connect the battery power cables to the SMILE-G3-INV and battery packs. Some as-

sembly is required in order to ensure the connections are waterproof.
d. Please pay attention to the cable polarity, the red cable is for battery positive.
For electrical connections between multiple battery packs, repeat the steps above,
connecting one battery to the next rather than to the inverter.
